The Riverside Community College District has received a $12.8 million state grant for career technical education programs, state Sen. Richard Roth, D-Riverside, announced Wednesday, May 27.

The money, which comes out of the California Career Pathways Trust, will serve more than 16,000 Inland students over three years. The grant will fund 18 programs providing coursework in information and communication technologies; manufacturing and product development/advanced manufacturing and health science and medical technology.

“Ensuring our students are prepared to be competitive and successful in the 21st century economy continues to be one of my top priorities,” Roth said in a news release. “This grant is a critical investment in our region’s future and for Inland Southern California’s recovering economy that will create real jobs in high-demand fields.”
