Capitol Weekly: Shaping AI’s effect on employment in California

Authored by Senator Sabrina Cervantes (D-Riverside), SB 928 bans the California State University from replacing faculty with AI, while still allowing for its use. Cervantes said AI tools should support educators, not replace them. “SB 928 is needed to protect the human connection that our students need to learn well,” Cervantes said in an email to Capitol Weekly.
