Senator Cervantes Secures $5.5 Million for Patriot Park and New Perris Fire Station

(PERRIS) – Senator Sabrina Cervantes (D-Riverside) secured $5.5 million for the City of Perris, benefiting two community projects, with funding as part of the 2026-27 state budget.

  • $3 million for renovations at Patriot Park, including field improvements, additional parking, and essential lighting upgrades
  • $2.5 million toward the construction of a new fire station, South Perris Fire Station 105, located at 2495 Murrieta Road and anticipated to open in Spring 2028

“It is truly an honor to represent the people of Perris and champion investments that strengthen our communities and create lasting opportunities for future generations. This $5.5 million in funding will help build a safer, stronger, and more vibrant Perris, enhancing public safety and expanding access to outdoor spaces where families can gather, neighbors can connect, and our youth can thrive,” said Senator Cervantes. “I remain committed to delivering meaningful results for the Inland Empire and ensuring that every city and community across the 31st Senate District has the resources, infrastructure, and opportunities needed to improve quality of life and build a brighter future for the people we serve.”

“I want to sincerely thank Senator Sabrina Cervantes for her leadership and continued commitment to the City of Perris,” said Mayor Michael M. Vargas. “Securing more than $5.5 million for Patriot Park and the new South Perris Fire Station is a tremendous investment in our community. These funds will help us expand recreational opportunities, strengthen public safety, and improve the quality of life for our residents. We are grateful to Senator Cervantes for advocating for Perris and helping us move these important projects forward.”

The new fire station represents a crucial investment in the city’s emergency response infrastructure, expanding fire service capabilities to better accommodate the needs of Perris' growing population. “This project is a direct result of everyone coming together with a shared focus on public safety. I want to extend my gratitude to Senator Sabrina Cervantes and the Perris City Council for their commitment to public safety within our community,” said Division Chief Mark Scoville. “Our city leadership has always been supportive of our department and our efforts to improve emergency services, and we are grateful for their partnership in making this new fire station a reality.”
