Senator Cervantes Celebrates the 2025 31st Senate District Nonprofit Honorees

(RIVERSIDE, CA) --- Ten local nonprofit organizations were recognized last week by Senator Sabrina Cervantes during the 31st Senate District’s Nonprofit of the Year Celebration held at the Stewart Boathouse in Fairmount Park. Power Speaks Louder, recognized earlier this year in the State Capitol as the District’s 2025 Nonprofit of the Year, joined the event to celebrate alongside fellow honorees.

The 31st Senate District 2025 Nonprofit Honorees:

  • Eastvale Chinese American Association – strengthens community connections by supporting Eastvale’s Chinese-American neighbors’ legal and housing resources, as well as cultural and educational events; annually, they lead the Mid-Autumn Festival.

  • Family Promise of Riverside – helps families with children at risk or experiencing homelessness transform their lives to create a brighter future.

  • For the People Task Force – provides essential support to our vulnerable neighbors; they are leading community food drives to provide groceries and critical goods to families in need.

  • HERENCIA Mariachi Academy – works to create, inspire, and develop youth through a diverse music program that guides students to a more promising and enriched future.

  • Miracles & Dreams Foundation – aims to inspire hope and promote the well-being of local youth and communities by uplifting, supporting, and empowering all.

  • Reach Out – strives to enhance the quality of life for individuals by offering advocacy and programs that promote healthy living, community beautification, public safety, and health education.

  • Supplies for Humanity – provides essential items to homeless shelters, unhoused individuals, transitional housing programs, and families in need. This is a student-led nonprofit.

  • TODEC Legal Center – serves as a hub of healing, organizing, advocacy, community transformation, and a lifeline for immigrants and their families. TODEC is guided by its mission to empower disenfranchised immigrant communities to become economically, socially, educationally, and civically self-sufficient.

  • Visión y Compromiso – creates and sustains a statewide network of promotoras and community health workers to educate, empower, and advocate for the well-being of our communities.

  • Power Speaks Louder – pairs social-emotional development with need-specific resources; intentional action that can change the lives of those who are underserved. They offer services like free food drives and bus distribution throughout Moreno Valley and Riverside County, as well as activities promoting good health, such as free walk/run events.

“Nonprofits play an absolutely vital role in our communities. Filling gaps, lifting up families, and meeting the needs that might otherwise go unmet,” Senator Cervantes said. “These nonprofits provide food and housing, legal services, and keep our communities healthy, all while inspiring our students. They also preserve culture and tradition, as well as teach new skills and open new doors of opportunity.”

Continuing with her thoughts, the Senator added, “And in a time when uncertainty at the federal level has made the work even more challenging, the commitment they show every day has never been more essential. Nonprofits are the leaders people turn to first. They are the hearts, hands, and voice that strengthen the Inland Empire.”
