Moreno Valley’s Morrison Park Infused with $1 Million Secured by Senator Cervantes
(MORENO VALLEY) – Senator Sabrina Cervantes (D-Riverside) presented $1 million to the City of Moreno Valley toward inclusive playground improvements at Morrison Park with funding as part of the 2026-27 state budget.
- $1 million for adaptive and inclusive playgrounds and equipment at Morrison Park with features intentionally built to accommodate children with both physical and cognitive disabilities.
- Wheelchair Accessibility: Built with integrated wheelchair ramps that allow children to access the same slides, climbers, and interactive play panels alongside their peers.
- Sensory & Vestibular Support: Features high-back swings equipped with shoulder harnesses to support children with vestibular disorders or limited trunk control.
“Providing $1 million for open space projects that provide meaningful and lasting benefits to Moreno Valley families and neighbors, particularly those needing additional support, is integral to the work I was sent to the Capitol to accomplish,” said Senator Cervantes. “These funds will help ensure that the cities and communities I represent in the 31st Senate District have the resources they need to improve quality of life, build needed infrastructure, and contribute to better futures for the people we serve.”
“This investment in Morrison Park is an investment in the heart of our community. I’m deeply grateful to Senator Cervantes for her partnership and commitment to Moreno Valley. These improvements, including plans for an all-inclusive adaptive playground, will help strengthen a place where families gather, children play, and lasting memories are made. Our residents deserve parks they can be proud of, and this funding brings us one step closer to that vision,” said City of Moreno Valley Mayor Ulises Cabrera.
