Statement by Senator Richard D. Roth on the Passing of US Senator Dianne Feinstein

I am profoundly saddened by the news of Senator Dianne Feinstein’s passing. Not only was she a true pioneer, she was a fearless warrior and one of the most effective and influential Senators the nation has ever had. While she was a true visionary and a leader in many of our time's most important issues, she also effectively delivered for the people of California.

As a community advocate and then as a State Senator, I was proud to work with her on so many matters important to Inland Southern California.  She led the effort to help prevent the destruction of the Mojave Desert, return control over Ontario airport from LA to our region, secure the future of March Field, and bring a Federal District courthouse to Riverside, with Federal District Judges, and much, much more. There will never be another public servant like her. She was truly a force of nature and will be greatly missed.
