Senator Richard Roth Celebrates New Fontana District Office with Ribbon Cutting Office Serves Colton, Fontana, Grand Terrace and Unincorporated Areas of San Bernardino County

July 25, 2023

Fontana, CA—Flanked by local dignitaries, Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) cut the ribbon to his new district office in Fontana’s City Hall on Monday.

Once every 10 years redistricting occurs in the State; and, when that happens, new State Senate and Assembly districts result.  In some cases, a new Senate district may be created but the election for the new Senator representing that district is delayed for two years. In that event, the Senate always designates a sitting Senator from an adjacent district to step in and provide representation to constituents until an election is conducted. The cities of Colton, Fontana and Grand Terrace, as well as unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County, were included in a newly constituted Senate District, which will not have an election for a senator to represent it until 2024.  Consequently, the State Senate Rules committee designated the 31st district, represented by Senator Roth, to provide that representation in the meantime.

“It is a great honor and privilege to be tapped to represent the residents of Colton, Fontana, Grand Terrace and unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County, with over 280,000 residents, until such time as their new Senator is elected,” said Roth. “We are delighted with this new assignment and to open this district office, and look forward to solving problems and trying to bring additional resources to these communities. A huge ‘thank you’ to Mayor Warren and the Fontana City Council for giving us a home.”

“The City of Fontana is pleased to host Senator Roth’s new district office inside Fontana’s City Hall. This addition enhances the current range of services available to our residents and constituents,” said Fontana Mayor Acquanetta Warren. “We extend a warm welcome to the Senator and his team and look forward to working together to bring vital resources to the great City of Fontana.”

Roth’s Fontana Office is located in Fontana City Hall, 8353 Sierra Ave., Suite 142, Fontana, CA 92335, Phone: (909) 574-4120.
