Dear Friends,

As Americans, celebrating the 4th of July holiday is a sacred and storied tradition. Vested deep in this tradition is a commitment to the fundamental belief that liberty is a universal right for all, not a privilege of the few.

This past July 4th, I attended the Independence Day parade and celebration at Country Village in Jurupa Valley. This tradition began more than 40 years ago and I was honored to serve as this year's Grand Marshall of the Parade. More than 4,000 people attended and it was great to see so many families together to celebrate our nation's birthday.

Since being elected last November, I have visited a number of Inland Southern California employers throughout the 31st State Senate District. On Friday, July 5, I visited Solar Max, headquartered in Downtown Riverside. Solar Max is one of many regional companies that helps bring alternative energy sources to Inland Southern California, in turn helping create jobs throughout the region and helping our economy continue to grow.

I have opened a new satellite district office in Perris located at the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Perris Station, 137 North Perris Boulevard, Perris, CA 92570. The new district office will be open every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Constituents can also come by the new district office from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. by appointment.
