Senator Richard Roth

Dear friend:

I spent this past weekend at community events throughout Senate District 31. It was great to meet so many old and new friends and I am always proud to serve and represent you in the State Senate.

I was honored to be the guest speaker at the GRID Alternatives Earth Day Solar Open House on Friday, April 19, where GRID workers and volunteers installed solar panels at a Habitat for Humanity home in Jurupa Valley. GRID Alternatives installs clean energy technologies and has brought these technologies to over 100 homes in Inland Southern California. By bringing clean energy to our region and working with local non-profit organizations like Habitat for Humanity, GRID Alternatives positively contributes to the future environmental, economic and social growth of Senate District 31 and Inland Southern California.

On Saturday, April 20, I had the humble privilege to participate in the Salute to Veterans Parade in Riverside. A career in the Air Force taught me that service to one's community and country is paramount above all else, and that sacrifice is an enduring part of public service. The sight of veterans from all branches of the armed services, of all ages and backgrounds who have made immeasurable sacrifices for our freedoms strengthened my belief in our purpose. The sight and sound of our community supporting our troops at the parade filled me with an immeasurable amount of pride.

Our veterans' sacrifices have an impact not only on the current generation but on the next one as well. After the Salute to Veterans Parade, I traveled to the Corona-Norco Day of the Child event in Corona. Children of all ages stopped by my table to draw and color pictures, which I will be putting up in my District and Capitol Offices. I also had the opportunity to speak with these children's parents on a variety of issues. While each parent had their own unique set of beliefs, we all shared an undying commitment to making our region and state better for the sake of our children.

As I continue to tour the 31st Senate District and meet with its residents, I find myself increasingly proud and honored to serve you.

Respectfully,

RICHARD D. ROTH
