Dear friends,

This has been an eventful and productive week both in Senate District 31 and Sacramento.

On Friday, April 12, I had the privilege of meeting with veterans, hosting a town hall meeting, and touring Perris High School in Perris, CA. My conversations with members and leaders of the Perris community reinforced my belief that our district has some of the finest people who truly care about the community they live in. I will continue to fight for the issues that Perris and our region care about to make Inland Southern California a safer, more prosperous place to raise our families.

On Wednesday, my bill to fully fund the UC Riverside Medical School, SB 21, passed through the Senate Committee on Education on a unanimous, bipartisan vote. Now SB 21 moves on to be heard in the Senate Committee on Appropriations. While there is still a long way to go, this is a positive development on the road to victory for the UCR Medical School. The Medical School is critical for our region and state, and I will continue to fight for full funding for the school to address California's growing doctor shortage and transform our region's economy.

As we move forward, I am confident that we will deliver on the things Inland Southern California needs and deserves. It is truly an honor to serve you.
