This past week, I had the opportunity to visit two cities in the 31st State Senate District, Norco and Moreno Valley.
On Friday, March 22, I visited the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division, located in Norco. Capt. Eric H. Ver Hage (USN), the Commanding Officer of NSWC, provided a valuable briefing on the critical work NSWC does in our region to help protect our nation and contribute to our local economy. I was truly impressed and inspired by the wide range of research and services provided by NSWC particularly in the area of clean energy and technology. NSWC embodies exactly the kind of partnership that can help continue Inland Southern California's economic and technological growth.
I also had the privilege to visit the site where the new Silverlake Equestrian and Soccer Complex is being built. The facility will have a tremendous economic and recreational impact on Norco and the 31st Senate District. From there I met with Dr. Paul Parnell, President of Norco College. I am both proud of and amazed at the level of dedication Dr. Parnell's administration brings to each student's education and future.
Norco's continued positive contributions to our region are seen in practically every aspect of our daily lives, from the defense of our liberties to our children's futures. I look forward to visiting "Horsetown USA" again soon!
On Tuesday, March 26, I held a town hall meeting at Moreno Valley City Hall and had the opportunity to discuss the issues I am working on for our community in the State Legislature. From the status of the UCR Medical School to veterans' issues, the meeting left me as motivated as ever to continue fighting for Inland Southern California.
I'm looking forward to visiting Norco and Moreno Valley again soon and meeting even more residents of the 31st State Senate District.
