The Senate Environmental Quality Committee unanimously and on a bipartisan vote approved Senator Richard D. Roth’s (D-Riverside) proposed new law to provide safe drinking water to 140 homes in Western Riverside County served by the failed, private County Water Company of Riverside.

Senate Bill 1130 allows the public agencies of Eastern Municipal Water District and Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District the necessary assistance they need to provide both short and long term solutions to the health and safety risks the residents face as a result of this failing water system.

Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside), Chair of the Senate Committee on Legislative Ethics, today announced the retention of independent, outside legal counsel to assist the committee in reviewing matters contained in the recently leaked FBI affidavit concerning allegations of inappropriate conduct.

It was December 7, 1941,  a young sailor named John Finn was stationed at NAS Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.  Born in Los Angeles on July 24, 1909, just 13 days after my Dad, he joined the Navy in 1926 when the world was at peace.  After all we had just won the War to End All Wars – World War I – so why would he think otherwise.

Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) will open a new satellite district office in Perris on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Perris Station, 137 North Perris Boulevard, Perris, CA 92570.

Staff will be available to assist with any questions or concerns you have regarding state services, programs and procedures.  Brochures and other helpful information about public services will also be available.

Today, Governor Jerry Brown signed the Fiscal Year 2013 – 2014 state budget today providing full and continuous funding for the University of California, Riverside Medical School.
 
Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) said, “The $15 million of ongoing state money in this year’s state budget is a victory for the UCR Medical School, the health of the people of Inland Southern California, and our regional economy. This victory will benefit all of us today and our families for generations to come.”

The Senate Governance and Finance Committee unanimously and on a bipartisan vote approved Senator Richard D. Roth’s (D-Riverside) proposed new law to assist the Riverside County cities of Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Menifee, and Wildomar.

Senator Roth’s proposal, Senate Bill 56, provides funding for newly incorporated cities and for cities which annexed inhabited areas that lost funding as a result of state budget challenges in 2011.  The bill provides newly incorporated cities and annexations with funding to replace lost revenue money other new cities previously received.
