(SACRAMENTO) – Today, California took another step in the ongoing fight against human trafficking. SB 1104 – which will require schools to share human trafficking prevention resources with parents and guardians – cleared the Senate Education Committee with unanimous support.

(SACRAMENTO) – Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) has introduced legislation that will allow California drivers to lead social change. SB 1112 creates a specialized license plate giving Californians the option to replace one of the seven digits on their plate with a hashtag. Funds raised through this specialized plate will go to supportive services at Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention programs and No Place Like Home programs.

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) introduced the Medical Records Protection Act that fulfills a critical need to ensure the guaranteed access of patient records. SB 1238 will require certain health care providers to notify a patient before medical records are destroyed and make those records available.

SB 1087 will better protect consumers who use Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing by ensuring greater public transparency of entities providing these loans.

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, the Senate unanimously voted to authorize an additional Justice be appointed to the Second Division of the 4th Appellate District, which serves the Riverside/San Bernardino region. Senate Bill 38 relieves an overwhelming pressure felt in these counties’ justice systems.

Gov. Jerry Brown today in San Francisco signed Senator Richard Roth’s Senate Bill 540, one of the measures in a package of legislation to address the state’s housing crisis by lowering housing costs and spurring construction. SB 540 received bipartisan support from the Legislature.
