Senator Roth Celebrates California’s 40th Governor

January 07, 2019

Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) issued the following statement today in response to Governor Gavin Newsom’s Inauguration:

“Today, it is a new day, a new beginning, a new opportunity for California as we witness a remarkable changing of the guards. Governor Gavin Newsom becomes our 40th governor taking the reins of a state that is this nation’s embodiment of innovation and bold action,” said Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside). “As we celebrate Governor Newsom’s inauguration, we owe a debt of gratitude to former Governor Jerry Brown for his outstanding leadership. His unyielding strength led California to become the fifth largest economy in the world. Now the good work continues. I look forward to tackling big issues with Governor Newsom to continue to deliver results for Inland Southern California.”
