Dear Friends:
As the federal tax deadline quickly approaches, there is an important tax credit you may be eligible to receive.
The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a refundable federal income tax credit for working individuals and families (ages 25 - 65) making less than $51,000 in 2012.
EITC can reduce your taxes and result in a refund. In most cases, earned income tax credit payments will not be used to determine eligibility for Medicaid, supplemental security income (SSI), food stamps, low income housing or other forms of temporary assistance for needy families.
Last year, nearly 3 million Californians received a tax credit through this program. To be eligible, you must meet certain requirements and file a tax return. Qualified taxpayers should not miss out on this tax credit!
To see if you are eligible for this important tax benefit, you can call the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) at 1 (800) 829-3676. The IRS has also set up a special webpage to easily answer your questions on the Earned Income Tax Credit, which you can find at http://www.eitc.irs.gov.
Respectfully,
RICHARD D. ROTH
