Senator Roth's Statement on the Passing of Riverside County Supervisor John J. Benoit

(Riverside, CA) -- Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) issued the following statement on the passing of Riverside County Supervisor John J. Benoit:

"I am deeply saddened by the loss of Supervisor John J. Benoit, an extraordinary public servant who dedicated his life to protecting and serving all Californians.  For over four decades, Supervisor Benoit served our community and state with honor, integrity and dignity, embodying the very heart of public service.  As he bravely battled cancer over these last few months while continuing to serve, he displayed unmatched grace and dedication to the community he loved and cherished.  I hope all Californians will join me in thanking Supervisor Benoit for his decades of selfless service, and in sending sincere condolences and prayers to his wife Sheryl and their family during this difficult time."
