Senator Roth and the Riverside Unified School District Host First Pathways to Higher Education Conference

September 27, 2013

Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) is joining the Riverside Unified School District in holding the first Pathways to Higher Education Conference.

High School students and their parents are encouraged to attend this FREE conference on Saturday, October 5 from 8 AM to 11 AM at the J.W. North High School, 1550 W. Third Street, Riverside, CA 92507.

Senator Roth said, “This is an excellent opportunity for students, parents and family members to learn about many opportunities and options to achieve a college education. We need to encourage our students and assure their families that college is very possible for all who wish to pursue this goal. This is an excellent program and I am thrilled to join RUSD and all of the partners who are participating in this effort.”

The Pathways to Higher Education Conference is being held in conjunction with the University of California, Riverside; California State University, San Bernardino, Riverside City College and Completion Counts.  This conference will give students an in-depth look at what it takes to get into college.

The conference will cover everything from taking the right courses in high school, to writing a successful college entrance essay and how to secure financial support. Additionally, there will be discussions of how the California Dream Act and guarantee programs at Riverside Community College and Cal State University San Bernardino can help students and their families.

For questions or more information, please call Senator Roth’s Riverside Office at (951) 680-6750.
