Senate Appropriations Subcommittee Holds Riverside Hearing on the California Clean Energy Jobs Act

The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Fiscal Oversight and Bonded Indebtedness will hold an informational hearing regarding the implementation of the California Clean Energy Jobs Act. 

The hearing will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the   Riverside Adult School, 6735 Magnolia Avenue in Riverside, CA 92506.   

The California Clean Energy Jobs Act, Proposition 39, was passed by voters in November 2012. By changing the corporate tax structure, the proposition funds projects which reduce energy consumption and create jobs. A major focus of the initiative is improving aging school facilities to reduce energy costs and reinvest those savings back into the classroom. 
 
The informational hearing, convened by Senate Appropriations Chair Kevin de León
(D-Los Angeles) will include Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside), Assemblymember Jose Medina (D- Riverside) and Assemblymember Brian Nestande, (R-Palm Desert).

The hearing will include two panel presentations on Proposition 39 implementation:
• Accountability Mechanisms for School Construction Programs
• How Do We Measure Fiscal Outcomes & Health Benefits?

The 31st State Senate District includes portions of Riverside County including the communities of Riverside, Moreno Valley, March Air Reserve Base, Perris, Corona, Norco, Eastvale and Jurupa Valley.
